The Liechtensteinische Pfandbriefinstitut AG is mandated to provide its affiliated banks with long-term, crisis-resilient refinancing in accordance with the requirements of national Pfandbrief Act. To this end, the institute issues Pfandbriefe and uses the proceeds to grant loans to its member banks, which are secured by first-class mortgage liens on real estate in Liechtenstein.

Through this model, the Pfandbriefinstitut strengthens the stability of the banking system and promotes attractive, sustainable financing options for property owners. In this way, long-term mortgage loans within the principality are made available at market-based and reliable interest rates.
